In Tandag City, the capital of Surigao del Sur, the main hospital serves not just the city but much of Eastern Mindanao. The need to expand was clear. More patients, more demands, and a growing urgency to create a space that could respond to both.
We approached the design with sensitivity. New structures were planned to support the existing hospital without disrupting its operations. We also sought every opportunity to incorporate nature—green spaces, natural light, and airflow—into a setting that often overlooks softness.
Though the project remains unbuilt, it taught us a great deal. About movement, complexity, and the quiet power of spaces designed with both clarity and compassion.
